makes me smile

Eliana and i had a few special moments today that i just had to share...mostly because i want to remember them myself! i'm pretty sure that they will make you smile too. 

titus woke up this morning after one of his naps crying (i know...shocker!  a baby was crying!), so i proceeded to change his diaper before i nursed him.  i was changing him on the twin bed in his room, and eliana climbed up onto the bed to be next to him.  then, she pulled out a tissue and started to gently wipe his eyes!  i think i wanted to start crying right there myself when i saw that!  she hates it when she has tears on her face and figured that little brother would too.  so sweet! Elly Bean, i pray that you continue to love your brother like this and that both of you always look out for each other!

at lunch today, eliana and i were talking and she told me that she wanted to go shopping with me and titus.  here's the conversation that followed...
me: so, what do you want to buy at the store?
eliana:  fruit snacks, and ummmmmmm onion
me:  fruit snacks and an onion??  really??
eliana:  ummm, yes, and salt
me:  fruit snacks, an onion, and salt?  what will you do with those?
eliana:  umm, i have salt my house ummmm no salt
me:  so, you just want to buy fruit snacks and an onion?
eliana: umm, yes, fruit snacks, onion, and have salt at my house.
so, you got that right?  i couldn't help but just laugh at this!  she was so serious too!  hope you think of us the next time you buy fruit snacks, an onion, or salt!!

and last but not least was our discussion about traveling.  she was going to put a toy in the bottom drawer of her dresser, but when she opened it she discovered we had moved the pack n play into that drawer.  so, we started talking about the pack n play and how we used that whenever we traveled to different places.  then she thought i was talking about just going to her friend's house here in our city, so i told her that it was more for when we take an airplane or a bus somewhere.  this is what she said after that...
eliana:  coffee shop?
me:  oh, you think that when we travel on the airplane we are going to a coffee shop?
eliana:  yes
me:  what else do we do when we ride an airplane?
eliana:  baby
me:  so, whenever we get on an airplane, we will go to a coffee shop and have a baby?
eliana:  yes
well, she got the coffee shop thing right, but not so sure about the baby thing!  we are planning on taking a quick trip to hong kong in a few weeks and i better not come back with another baby!!  ahhh!! 

all about mommy

looking at all the cute pics of daddy with the kiddos, i just had to post a few of them with me too!!  this one is from our time in tland after he was born (hence, the swim attire!).  gotta LOVE those newborn cuddles!

as i've said before, whatever eliana sees mommy doing, she wants to do, whether it be nurse her stuffed animals and baby dolls or bathe them.  she is such a good helper!  she often runs and gets me diapers and wipes, gives Titus his blanket or toys, and whenever she hears me putting him down (i sing him the same song each time he goes down), she runs to make sure the light is off and the door is closed. 

this was also in tland when we went to teh aquarium.  this is what i look like when we go outside these days...baby strapped to me in the moby and two year old holding my hand.  crazy but awesome! 

this was our first outing to the park.  eliana refused to smile, but she really had a blast.  titus and his other little friend we went with were oblivious, of course! 

all about daddy

in the words of vip "this is the definition of a real man!"  we couldn't get a taxi from the shopping area downtown to the restaurant we wanted to eat at, so we had to walk there.  Vip was already weariing Titus, and i got way too tired carrying our very heavy 2 year old through the crazy traffic, so Daddy came to the rescue and carried both kids at the same time!!  love that man!

um, i think Daddy has his arms kind of full! 

like father, like son

he's definitely the playful one around the house...are you surprised? 

just to brag on him a little bit more, here's some of the ways he's been blowing me away lately.

1. took us dowtown this weekend to walk me through all the entrances to different malls/stores with the hopes we could figure out which entrances and routes would be stroller friendly as well as looking for good places to nurse while out and about, etc.  the idea of getting out with two kids by myself is quite daunting to me right now, but i am thankful that i have a husband who is trying to help me figure out how we can do this in a country that is not always kid friendly (esp when you have more than one to take care of)
2. cooked or ordered us food several times when i was just too tired from my late nights with the little man.
3. makes sure i have a good supply of caffeine each morning and even a few special lattes or iced tea throughout the day every now and then.  He has learned how to make one mean pitcher of sweet tea!!    
4. listened to me grumble and complain (eeek...guess this is confession time) on the hard days and encoruaged and lifted me up. 
5. continues to love us in all the amazing ways that he always has!

So, did i mention that we LOVE our daddy around here??
