About Me

I am a stay at home wife and mother of three, striving to please the one who saved me, lovingly serve my husband, and gently point my children to the one who died to save them.

red necks

the sunday before mom left i thought i would treat her to a massage.  there is a spa type place right outside our apartment complex and i had asked them earlier in the weak if they did massages.  they said they did, so we planned to go sunday afternoon while vip stayed home with the kids.  unfortunately, i didn't quite understand what we were agreeing to when i was telling the lady what we wanted.  she asked me what kind of massage we wanted (sweedish please with some candles, lotion, and nice relaxing music!! haha!).  there was a 1 dollar difference between the two options she was giving me, and the description of the more expensive one seemed to be what we wanted, so i figured we splurge and go with the more expensive one.  well, i learned an important word that day.  the word she kept using for this massage meant that it would be done by a machine.  that's right, no relaxing massage for us.  we got vacuumed!  they used this suction machine to go up and down our spine, neck, and shoulder blades and then would stop at certain points to suck out the toxins.  it didn't feel horrible, but i was a little sore for a few days afterwards, and we had these red suction marks all over our backs for the next week!  at the end of the massage, they finally explained to me tha the word used for the cheap massage means that they use their hands.  if only i had done the cheap thing that day!  but, we did have some of the biggest laughs of my entire life as we thought over it all!  i don't think i would trade that crazy adventure for anything!
since the massage wasn't exactly relaxing, vip agreed to watch the kids again the next day so we could get our nails done.  thankfully, there were no surprises there (other than my favorite place disappearing!  we found another one though!)

tiger mama

one of the presents she received while we were in the states was this tiger puppet (thanks mark and karen!).  for some reason, she has singled out this particular tiger (there are two of them) to give special care to.  here she is wrapping him up (we swaddle titus when he goes to sleep) and putting him in her crib...
and even nursing him and reading him a night night story!!  what a good little mama!
geaux tigers!

we love lao lao!!

if this picture doesn't capture the craziness of our house, i don't know what will!  and, needless to say, we have LOVED having Lao Lao around to help us control this craziness!!  she left this morning, and we are missing her for sure but also choosing to be thankful for the time we had with her.  thank you, mom, for coming all this way to love on us, play with us, cook for us, clean for us, and just share our lives with.  we love you lots!!

daddy let eliana be our photographer and push the button on the remote.  can you tell that she is just a little excited?
we just had to let Lao Lao experience the cars in the park!  watch out, Elly Bean!  she's going to get you!
or should i say watch out Lao Lao?
little titus loved cuddling with his lao lao!
our little man!
we had so much fun that one post just can't contain it all!  stay tuned!
